Bruce Hoskins, UMaine Soil Testing Coordinator, will lead a free program on how to manage soil nutrients for the special needs & conditions of growing crops in unheated high tunnels or hoop houses. Bruce plans to do some demos in one of the high tunnels on salt stratification and using the penetrometer to check for compaction before going inside for the talk.
